Embedded PC & Web-Server ISS 1.2

Worldwide perspectives for development

The use of local intelligence in the form of embedded computers is, admittedly, just as little our invention as real-time data processing. But we do have a solution when it comes to the integration of miniaturised computers in modern network-oriented applications and the radical simplification of graphical representations of process data. The visualisation of process data as a number of graphical surfaces poses a typical set of problems within automation technology. This is where we use a standard that is independent of both computer and operating system and yet available on almost every computer worldwide – browser technology. Whether it is the company intranet or the world-embracing Internet, communication with the ISS 1.2 intelligent CPU board can take place, enabling the visualisation of your measurement, control and regulation data – across the entire world if need be. No problem - thanks to the integrated WEB Server, at home in every imaginable network environment. The chosen Ethernet architecture lets you build in an effective firewall so that you can enjoy a flexibility of connection and worldwide data swapping at the same time as protection from unpleasant surprises. Many other practical standards have been taken into account. Two twisted pair Ethernet controllers, open communication standards such as the TCP/IP protocol, tried and tested ISA bus technology, possible standard operating systems such as QNX, Linux and Windows CE, standard developer tools, the Java development environment and a variable, unregulated power supply ranging from 7 – 35 volts and suitable for industry let your developers get down to work. And because it is speed that counts, also at the startup of complex applications, your engineers will surely be more than pleased to benefit from a fully functional PC with automatic network configuration, a pre-installed operating system and a boot time of less than 2 seconds.
